Nuria Albet
Coordinator La Palma Renovable

Laura Piñero and Nuria Albet are coordinators at La Palma Renovable in La Palma island, Canary Islands. The project was born from a citizen movement, Plataforma por Un Nuevo Modelo Energético, which succeeded in creating consensus at the political level in the 14 municipalities and Cabildo (island council) in wanting a 100% renewable island. Since 2018 the Cabildo took the call from the citizen platform and the project was born within the public administration. Several programs are being carried: energy savings at municipality level, energy justice, business mentoring, self-consumption boosting... The Secretariat for the Clean Energy for the EU Islands, an European Commission project, selected La Palma as one of 6 pilot islands. That means that the work of La Palma Renovable with all of its successes and failures will help other islands and mainland in the energy transition. It was a strategic decision to create the island's Energy Transition Agenda with the ClimateView tool. So far, more than 100 organizations in the island have signed to participate in the process and the project is ongoing.

Paul Dickinson

Paul founded CDP in 2000 with an ambition of creating a global economic system that operates within sustainable environmental boundaries and prevents dangerous climate change. Paul previously co-founded Rufus Leonard Corporate Design and EyeNetwork, which was the largest videoconference booking service in Europe.He has served as a member of the Environmental Research Group of the UK Faculty and Institute of Actuaries. Paul has authored various publications including the book Beautiful Corporations published in 2000 by Financial Times Prentice Hall. The book introduced the concept of sustainability product marketing which is growing in significance as a force in contemporary commerce.Paul is Chair of the Trustees of the NGO ShareAction as well as a Trustee of the Findhorn Foundation in Scotland where he has established a program of seminars and retreats now used by the responsible investment community as well as emerging social businesses. He is an advisor to the NGO Influence Map and is a trustee of the grant making Friends Provident Foundation.

Her work has been recognized by the MIT Climate Co-Lab, the Grist 50, TED, Vox, Public Radio International, Yale, and BECC.  She is focused on building three main areas on climate: creativity and culture, the parents movement, and integrating social science and practice. She advises dozens of start-up founders and leaders on social entrepreneurship and climate communications.
